How much does Freedom Trax weigh?

What is the range on a full battery?

8 miles/ You can get a longer range on flat hard terrain and a shorter range on hills or deep sand or grass. User weight can affect range as well.

What are the dimensions of FTX and FT1PRO (unadjusted)?

FTX: 33 inches wide and 39 inches long in the narrowest setting. Once adjusted to your chair adds 5 inches to each side.

FT1PRO: 22 inches wide x 29 inches long in narrowest setting. Once adjusted to your chair the width will be as wide as your push wheels.

Is Freedom Trax water-resistant?

Yes, it is splash- and rain-resistant. Do not submerge. Rinse off salt water.

Are custom colors available?

Yes, custom colors are available for a $200 fee.

TERRAIN & OUTDOOR USE

What terrain can it handle?

Designed for soft and deep sand, trails, grass, and uneven outdoor surfaces. Any terrain that is off the path!

What activities is it suitable for?

Hiking, surfing, fishing, kayaking, skiing, beach outings, gardening, farming, hunting, and more.

Can it handle hills?

Yes, both FTX and FT1PRO handle hills with ease. The patented track technology is designed for efficiency, durability, and power.

FIT & COMPATIBILITY

Which chairs is Freedom Trax compatible with?

 

Any non-motorized wheelchair or push chair including tilted chairs. Not compatible with power chairs or scooters. Chest straps are recommended for steep hills. We do not sell wheelchairs for Freedom Trax. Freedom Trax does not work for power chairs or scooters or rollators.

Will it fit pediatric or bariatric chairs?

 

Yes, with the FTX model. The FT1PRO will not work for very narrow chairs or chairs with extreme camber like sports wheelchairs.

Can tilt-in-space chairs be used?

 

Yes, with the FTX model.

Are both models adjustable?

 

Yes, both FTX and FT1PRO are fully adjustable to your chair and can be adjusted between users. FTX is more suitable for multi-user applications including rentals or organizations that will be transporting multiple people to activities. FT1PRO is harder to adjust in the field but once you set it to your chair there is no need to readjust.

What’s the difference between FTX and FT1PRO?

 

  • FTX: Tracks on the outside of your wheels. Wider, more stable side to side and front to back, ideal for multiple users, 4 attachment points, breaks down into 3 pieces for transport or storage. Adds 5 inches to the side of your chair. Roll on forwards to attach. New model designed with feedback from FT1PRO customers.
  • FT1PRO: Track on the inside of your wheels. More compact, 2 attachment points, better for getting through doorways and narrow trails. Roll on backwards to attach. Requires higher mobility in core to stay secure. Original Model for Freedom Trax.

TRAVEL BY CAR & PLANE

Can I transport it in a vehicle?

Yes, both fit in the back of an SUV/Truck/or Van. You can use a ramp, lift, or hitch basket. Freedom Trax can be driven with the controller up a ramp even if you are not attached to the unit. Two people who can lift 40 lbs. standing each can also load manually into a car.

Can I fly with my Freedom Trax?

Yes. Classified as a "power chair”: call your airline ahead to confirm. A supporting document is available
on request.

Is there a travel case available?

Not yet—but one is in development.

SHIPPING & ASSEMBLY

Do you ship nationwide or internationally?

Yes! $250 flat fee to U.S. (excluding Alaska/Hawaii). International shipping available quote provided at time of order. Customer responsible for all customs fees and taxes for importing. Can use shipping broker. We do not provide a shipping broker. We can send UPS or DHL.

How is it delivered?

→ Shipped right to your door in a box that is 24” by 12” by 48” similar to a bike or TV box. Some help may be needed to bring the unit indoors and assemble.

Is assembly required?

Minimal assembly. Includes operation manual and support contacts. No special tools needed.

Should I keep the packaging?

→ Yes, retain the shipping box and materials. We design Freedom Trax to be maintained by the user with typical tools. If you need service or upgrades you can save on shipping by using your original packaging.

Is it pre-charged?

Partially charged. Please fully charge before first use. Instructions in manual.

PAYMENTS & INSURANCE

What payment methods do you accept?

→ Credit cards, Bitcoin, and wire transfers. You can purchase on www.freedom-trax.com or request an invoice that can be paid online with credit card, pay pal, or HSA card.

Is it covered by medical insurance or the VA?

→ We do not bill insurance directly. Pay upfront and seek reimbursement. The VA has covered many units, often after a trial.

Medicaid vouchers may be accepted but must be initiated by the purchaser and contact made to set up as preferred vendor with your state. Workers comp coverage has paid for Freedom Trax.

Is financing or grant funding available?

→ Yes! Financing is offered. Contact us for the application. Grants are available from the Ask your local adaptive sports organizations and search for adaptive equipment foundations and grants. Many people have been able to get Freedom Trax covered by grants but it does take some perseverance and time.

What is your lead time?

→ Estimated 3–6 weeks. Pre-payment required. Delivery quoted at time of payment.

Is there a return policy?

Yes, units with no visible wear within 14 days of purchase in original packaging may be returned for a
restocking fee. Shipping charges, custom color charges, and credit card fees will subtracted from the refund.

WARRANTY & SUPPORT

What does the warranty include?

One-year warranty on parts and service (shipping not included). Covers defects only.

Does not cover damage from submersion, excessive wear, or drops.
